Juutua recreation area

Route: Inari - Juutuanvaara - Ahvenjärvi - Kivenjärvi - Taimenjärvi - Kivenoja - Inari.

Length and duration: 20 km, about 7-9 hours. The area is also suitable for camping.

Difficulty: Medium. Some climbs. A few wet places. Return along road.

Sights: Virgin forest and lots of small lakes.

Services: Fireplace: Kivenjärvi, Keski - Taimenjärvi, Taimenjärvi. Fishing allowed with permit.

Start: Juutua recreation area, Inari ski centre. Sign on Inari - Kittilä road. Parking lot and information board. The trail can be reached from the beginning of the jogging path.

Markings: Orange marks on trees. Signs.

Description

The trail turns off the jogging path from the ski centre and passes by Juutuanvaara. It passes through changing terrain along the shores of lakes and through a beautiful virgin forest. After the lakes the trail proceeds to Kivenoja and the Inari - Kittilä road. On the other side of the road you can hike to the River Juutuanjoki and see Otsamo Fell. Return along the Inari road.
 

Note: You can also reach the Juutua recreation area from Kivioja, the Inari - Kittilä road or Vanha Menesjärventie (Taimenjärvi intersection).
