Location
The fishing base on Leviä Petäjäsaari Island approx. 45
minutes boat trip from Inari harbour. The nearest airport is
at Ivalo, some 40 kilometres from Inari.
Own gear
Warm outdoor clothing. Own fishing tackle for fly fishing.
DAY I
Arrival at Ivalo Airport, where a fishing guide will be there
to meet you and transfer to Inari Harbour. Boat transfer from
Inari to Leviä Petäjäsaari Island, The necessary clothing
such as waterproofs or thermal suits and fishing tackle will
be issued on the island. Fishing will be from ideally suited
fishing smacks, fitted with motor, or by rowing boats. All
boats have an echo sounder: You can also fish from the shores
of ponds on the island. Meals will be served on the island in
accordance with the group’s own wishes. A hot sauna will be
available to fishermen in the evening.
DAY
II
Departure for Inari Island after breakfast. The trip will end
with a visit to Siida, the Sámi museum, which houses an
extensive exhibition of Sámi life from ancient time to the
present day. The museum is well-known throughout Europe.
Transfer from Inari to Ivalo Airport in the afternoon.
Charge covers
Transfers from Ivalo Airport to Inari and return, boat
transfers to the island, accommodation, full board, sauna,
fishing permits, fishing tackle for trolling from fishing
smack, fishing boats and guide services. Accommodation is in
youth hostel standard cottages. There are outside toilets in
the island.
Also available
Transfer to Leviä Petäjäsaari by seaplane. Minimum of 3
persons. The plane flies for about 30 minutes around the Lake
Inari. Possibility to stay on at the Hotel Kakslauttanen in
Saariselkä in well-appointed log cottages with own sauna and
fireplace. Possibility to go fishing for King Crabs in the
Norwegian village of Bygoynes on the Arctic Ocean. The
package includes a 2-hour boat trip during which crab traps
are made. Crab meal cooked after the boat trip. Arctic Ocean
sauna. Minimum of 4 and maximum of 10 persons.
