Joint ticket for exhibitions and lake cruise
In this summer it is possible to visit the Siida exhibitions and join a Lake Inari cruise with a joint ticket. Daily cruises on Lake Inari start in early June and from the beginning of June the Siida exhibitions are open from 9 - 20 every day.

The Lake Inari cruise season will start again after most of the ice has melted. Till now ice is still covering the lake! Regular cruises will probably start on 7.6.12. In the beginning of the summer the cruises will start at 13:00 and from 23.6.-12.8.12 we have two cruises per day: at 13:00 and at 17:00. This summer we will also organize special cruises - more information about that later!

Most likely we did this season’s last snowmobile safari today. The trail markings will be removed from the ice of the lakes this and next week. During this winter we once again renewed our snowmobiles. Almost all of our snowmobiles are new now (in use since 2011 or later).

The Golden Cup skiing competitions are held from 27.-29.4.12 in Inari.

In the coming weeks there are quite a lot of events in Inari! First, there is a Sámi youth event from 28.-29.3.12 in Sajos. From 31.3.-1.4.12 there are the annual Reindeer Races. The official opening of Sajos takes place from 3.-4.4.12. The Finnish President Sauli Niinistö is also taking part in the official opening. Besides, we have a handicraft fair and reindeer food event in Inari.

There have been lots of Northern Lights this winter and they have been great! It is possible to observe Northern Lights at least until beginning of April. After that the nights will be too light.

Sajos, the new Sámi Cultural Center in Inari, has been opened for the public today. In Sajos there are conference rooms and offices for the Finnish Sámi Parliament, the shop of the Sámi Duodji handicraft organisation, classrooms for the Sámi Educational School, the Sámi Library etc. The official opening ceremony is held in the beginning of April. www.sajos.fi

Snow is covering the ground and it is the time of the Arctic Lights, even though we have not had very cold temperatures yet. During autumn and the beginning of winter we have seen quite many and beautiful Northern Lights. The coming winter should be very good for observing them!

The construction of MS Inari III is progressing on schedule. The cruise ship will be in use next summer.
MS Inari III will be registered for 99 passengers and all the passengers can go inside if necessary.
Compared to the current cruise ship the interiors of the new vessel are less stringent and thus allow more various events.

This year was a good year concerning wild berries.
The cruising season is still on, so you can join us for a cruise and see the autumn colours from the lake. Regular cruises are still every day at 14:00 (2pm). The last regular cruise is on Mon 20.9. at 14:00.

The time of the Midnight Sun begins in Inari on 22.5.2010. Then the sun will not set at all. Even now we don't have any darkness at all. In the last few days the temperatures have been very warm or even hot in Inari: up to +25 degrees! During these warm days snow and ice have melted rapidly. We are refurbishing Holiday Village Inari again. The kitchen in the service building is now under renovation and will be ready soon. Then it is time to do a little renovation in the sauna building and it should be ready before June begins.

Reindeer races are held again in Inari the coming weekend from 27. - 28.3. On both days races start at 11:00. Welcome to all the race people and spectators! The race course is once again in front of Holiday Village Inari on Lake Inari. Last Saturday was the vernal equinox which means that now the day is longer than the night. The weather has been very nice and sunny. This could be a good opportunity to send greetings to exchange students from abroad, who visited the Holiday Village last week.

This week the cross-country skiing trails round Inari village will be opened for the first time. All trails will be kept open until late April.Many nights and days in the past week were quite cold here in Inari. The temperature will not rise a lot - the weather forecast promises still cold temperatures (below -20).Last week there were lots of Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in the sky on many nights. Although this year the sun is not looking down to Earth too often, you can sometimes just be lucky with the Northern Lights and the weather.

The Arctic night is over in Inari. During Christmas and the New Year time there was a nice atmosphere in Inari and we had visitors from all over the world. The temperatures outside were quite cold...Next week there is the Travel Fair in Helsinki. You can meet our representative there on professional days at stand 3 f 21. It would be nice to see you!

We got the first snow in Inari at the beginning of October. A couple of weeks ago there was a bit warmer period and snow melted in the surroundings of Lake Inari. At this very moment it is snowing again. The temperatures have been below zero long enough for smaller lakes to have already quite a good ice sheet. The arctic night period is getting closer. Today the sun is above the horizon for about 5 hours. Again we can see beautiful nature photos and films during the Camera Borealis event from 21. – 23.11.09.

Autumn colour time has begun in Inari. Time lasts still two or three weeks. Now in autumn it is good to remind, that Holiday village Inari is open whole year round. In autumn time there is plenty to do in Inari: Siida, Handicraft studios and Lake Inari cruises.

We have had a beautiful summer in Inari. Fishermen have got good amount of fish. Cloudberries are ready to be picked. Blueberries are almost ready. On 21. – 22.8.09 there is Ijahis Idja – music festival in Inari.

Reindeer Champions Drives are held on 28. – 29.3.09 on Lake Inari in front of Holiday Village Inari.
Preparations have proceeded well. Voluntary workers are finishing the race tracks and Holiday Inari is also getting ready to welcome all participants and spectators.

Last week in Inari temperatures were quite low. It was about -30 - -35 degrees. Northern Lights we have seen on clear nights. In beginning of this week we got new snow about 20 cm. Trees look beautiful.
